Piper has appointed Geoffrey Berger interim chief executive until the manufacturer can find a permanent successor for Kevin Gould.

Gould, who was only promoted to the chief executive post last year, resigned earlier this month. Berger, an investment fund manager, was introduced as interim chief at AirVenture 2010. Berger, who was already a member of the Piper board, says he expects to serve as chief for about three months or however long it take to find a permanent chief.

Geoffrey’s brother, Stephen Berger, is Piper chairman and head of Imprimis, the Brunei-linked investment firm which acquired Piper last year. Geoffrey also plans to take up a new job in Brunei for Imprimis after his stint as interim Piper chief executive concludes.
