Senai Airport Terminal Services is gearing up to play a bigger role in the Malaysia's business and commercial aviation industry through the establishment of the Senai International aviation park in the country's thriving Iskandar Malaysia region in the southern state of Jahor.

The new developments and heavy investment in Iskandar Malaysia will contribute positively to the growth of Senai international aviation park, says Mohd Sidik Shaik Osman, chief executive of Senai Airport Terminal Services.

The airport and its related Senai airport city development project which comprises a free trade zone, high-tech park and residential and commercial zone, will become an aviation hub catering to all aviation needs for the region, he adds.

"We will take advantage of the growing regional aviation industry and continue with our efforts to attract global aviation players,"

The master plan for Senai airport city - itself a a multi-billion ringgit 10-year development project - calls for enhancing its passenger facilities, establishing a logistics and aviation park, developing an industrial free zone area and developing cargo centres.

The company intends to tap into the existing aerospace activities in neighbuoring Singapore and other parts of the Asia-Pacific region.
