British Airways and USAir have expanded their codeshare agreement to include 10 new US destinations. BA has signed a service partnership with Aeromexico.
Canadian Airlines has added 17 new daily flights to its codeshare agreement with American Airlines. Services include Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver to Dallas-Ft Worth; Calgary to Chicago and Dallas; and Winnipeg to Chicago. Elsewhere Canadian will increase its Toronto-Rome frequency from four a week to five, withdraw from Montreal-Rome, and transfer all routes to St John's, Newfoundland, to partner Air Atlantic.
United will launch its long-awaited daily service between London/Heathrow and Chicago/O'Hare in mid-September.
British Midland has joined American Airlines' frequent flyer plan and the two carriers have expanded their codeshare agreement to include four new UK destinations - Edinburgh, Belfast, Teesside and Leeds-Bradford.
Korean Air has begun three weekly services from Seoul to Washington/Dulles using a B747.

AirRep Cargo Services has opened a hub at Orenburg in western Siberia. The cargo carrier already has a hub at Mineralnyyevody in southern Russia.
Start-up carrier EasyJet has chosen London/Luton airport as its base for operations, due to be launched in October. The self-styled low price/high value carrier plans to fly B737s to domestic UK and European destinations.
British Airways franchisee CityFlyer Express will launch thrice daily ATR72 services from London/Gatwick to Amsterdam from the end of October. Transavia will increase its Boeing 737-300 frequencies on the route to six times daily in the week.
