EgyptAir is seeking to open two more US gateway routes from Cairo, naming Chicago and Los Angeles as target destinations.
The Star Alliance carrier identifies the routes in filings with US regulators.
EgyptAir serves New York JFK and Newark, and also operates to Washington DC.
It states that it aims to commence services to Los Angeles in May next year and open Chicago flights the following month.

EgyptAir adds that it “hopes to initiate sales and advertising activities immediately” for both routes.
The new services, it says, would provide “significant new transportation options” between Egypt and the USA.
EgyptAir operates long-haul routes with its Boeing 777 and 787 fleet. It also has 16 Airbus A350-900s on order.
