Boeing Business Jets has launched a VIP version of its latest airliner, the 777X, unveiling three concept interiors for the type at the Middle East Business Aviation Association show in Dubai today.
The BBJ 777X, which, like its airliner counterpart, will be available in -8 and -9 variants, becomes the third current production widebody in the BBJ range, joining the 787 and the 747-8.
The BBJ 777-8 and BBJ 777-9, which have a range of 11,640nm (21,600km) and 11,000nm, respectively, will be able to fly further than any business jet, and “redefine ultra-long-range VIP travel”, says Greg Laxton, chief executive of Boeing Business Jets.
At MEBAA, Boeing displayed cabin concepts from Greenpoint Technologies, Jet Aviation, and Unique Aircraft Design.
Jet Aviation’s design is dubbed Shaheen, meaning Royal White Falcon, and “blends modern and classic elements”, according to the Swiss business aviation services firm.
The airframer also announced a new order at MEBAA, from an unidentified customer, for its BBJ Max, bringing total orders for the business jet version of the re-engined narrowbody to 21.
