The Ivory Coast air force has finalised an order for a single Airbus Defence & Space C295 medium transport.

“The C295 has proven its outstanding capabilities in the exceptionally harsh sub-Saharan Africa operating environment,” says Bernhard Brenner, head of marketing and sales at Airbus Defence & Space.

“The aircraft will be a game changer for [the] Ivory Coast and we feel very proud to welcome a new operator into our C295 family.”

The company adds that it had previously sold 91 C295s to 17 African countries, also including units for Algeria, Egypt, Ghana and Mali.

Flight Fleets Analyzer shows that the Ivory Coast air force currently operates five aircraft: two Antonov An-26 transports, aged 33 and 34 years, and a trio of Mil Mi-24 attack helicopters.
