Elbit Systems is offering its Hermes 900 unmanned air system (UAS) in a maritime patrol configuration.

The Israeli company says the variant has been designed to answer the "full spectrum" of operational needs for a maritime patrol UAS.

The type's payload comes in at 350kg (770lb) and includes a maritime radar, electro-optical sensors and electronic surveillance systems.

In addition, the Hermes 900 can use its satellite communication links to act as a radio relay and enable an operator to talk to distant vessels.

The Israeli manufacturer claims the aerodynamic efficiency of the Hermes 900 enables frequent changes in flight profiles, allowing visual identification of targets, in addition to radar detection.

The UAS’ satellite communication capability enables it to perform missions at extended ranges up to 1,000nm (1,850km) from shore, Elbit says.
