Ahead of February’s Singapore Airshow, where many of these exciting developments will be major talking points, we bring together a panel disruptive thinkers and aerospace leaders to discuss the potential of these technologies, and how a resurgent Asia-Pacific could be a proving ground for new modes of air travel.

Anand Stanley, President, Airbus Asia-Pacific

Based in Singapore, Anand Stanley will lead the strategy and future positioning of Airbus and its divisions across the region. In this role he will have responsibility for commercial aircraft sales and customer affairs, group-wide government affairs, industrial and joint venture partnerships, as well as the local operations at Airbus sites across the region. “Anand has brought a wealth of experience to Airbus and managed the company’s operations in India with very positive results,” said Christian Scherer. “His proven track record makes him the right choice to lead Airbus in the key Asia-Pacific market. We know that we can count on Anand to focus on supporting our customers in these most challenging times, while developing further our position as the leading partner for the aerospace sector in the region.”

Jeffrey Lam, President, ST Engineering

Jeffrey Lam is the President/Head, Commercial Aerospace, of ST Engineering, a global technology, defence and engineering group with a diverse portfolio of businesses across the aerospace, smart city, defence and public security segments. Appointed to this role on 1 January 2021, Jeffrey leads the growth and development of ST Engineering’s commercial aerospace business that straddles original equipment manufacturing solutions, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services, and aviation asset management. Prior to his current appointment, Jeffrey served in various senior roles overseeing P&L and business development within the Group’s aerospace business. He had served as the Deputy President and Chief Operating Officer, as well as the Vice President/General Manager of an engine MRO business and Vice President for the Engine Total Support capability cluster. He currently serves on the boards of various global aerospace subsidiaries and affiliated companies of the Group.

Hon Lung Chu, Head of Singapore & Business Development Southeast Asia, Volocopter

Hon is responsible for launching Volocopter’s first commercial air taxi service in Singapore, opening one of the most promising markets for this new form of mobility. Before Volocopter, Hon entered the world of urban air mobility as Head of APAC Business Operations at AirMap, an Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) company headquartered in Santa Monica, California. Hon has also worked at Rakuten, Twilio, and Google in business and technical capacities across US and Asia. Hon was trained an Electrical and Computer Engineer at Duke University and has a MBA from Harvard Business School.

Andre Stein, CEO, Eve Urban Air Mobility

Andre Stein has more than 20 years of multicultural experience in aviation from living and working in Australia, Singapore, Silicon Valley, and Brazil. He has served in leadership roles at Embraer that span Strategy, Product Development, New Business, Market Intelligence, and Sales and led the product strategy throughout the development cycle of the E-Jets E2. Stein hails from the Kellogg School of Management and is a trained Mechanical Engineer from Unicamp. He is an avid traveler who is passionate about mobility.

Vikram Reddy, General Manager, Engineering, GE Aviation

Vikram Reddy is the general manager of engineering team in India for GE Aviation. The team comprises about 500 talented engineers who provide engineering design, analysis and software solutions for jet engines, components and integrated systems for commercial aircraft, in collaboration with the global GE Aviation engineering team. Vikram joined GE Aviation team in 1999 and held leadership roles with increasing responsibilities since then. He personally worked and supervised teams in development of successful products like GEnx, LEAPx and GE9x. Vikram spent considerable years in leading Advanced technologies group at Bangalore and developing next generation product strategy for GE Aviation. Vikram received GE Aviation CEO award for Empowering & Inspiring leadership in 2017. He led several successful projects with premier universities and national labs in India for collaborative research & development.
