Sandel Avionics has entered a long-term supply agreement with Korea Aerospace Industries to provide a hazard avoidance system for Surion helicopters to be procured by South Korea's national police.

The US company says the HeliTAWS is the first multi-hazard avoidance system for helicopters that provides alerts against terrain, obstacles and wires.

"Sandel looks forward to significant involvement in future projects over the term of this agreement in both civilian and military helicopters," says Jerry Henry, director of sales for Sandel. "We are extremely proud to be associated with a company as highly regarded as Korea Aerospace Industries."
