Parafield, South Australia-based airline pilot training college Flight Training Adelaide (FTA) has taken delivery of the first four of seven four-seat Diamond DA 42 training aircraft. FTA has already installed two "Level 5" type specific flight and procedural navigation trainers with identical glass cockpits, and the new aircraft will replace its fleet of Beechcraft Duchesses.

Chief executive Keith Morgan says FTA, now owned and operated by Hong Kong-based Young Brothers Aviation, is close to maximum capacity and estimates over the next decade the region will require 7,500 new pilots. FTA is now training over 200 airline-funded pilots annually and is seeking a location for an additional college.
