Airbus has completed deliveries of new A320 family aircraft to two Chinese carriers - Shanghai Airlines and Juneyao Airlines - both of which are based in Shanghai.

New Airbus operator Shanghai Airlines received its first of 10 International Aero Engines V2533-A5-powered A321s. The 178-seat aircraft will initially be deployed on domestic routes and then to regional services to other points including Japan and South Korea.

Meanwhile, Shanghai-based privately owned carrier Juneyao Airlines has received its first purchased A320 - a 158-seat CFM International CFM56-powered twinjet. The airline already operates 10 leased single-aisle Airbuses - two A319s and eight A320s - and has 10 more A320s due to join the fleet by the end of 2012 via operating lease and purchase.

Its new A320 will serve routes between Shanghai and some of the most popular tourist destinations in China, as well as other destinations in Asia.
