Venezuela's Avensa continues to fade as Santa Barbara Airlines, formerly a domestic carrier, replaces it on all international routes. Santa Barbara is flying a McDonnell Douglas DC-10 to the Canary Islands and Spain, and plans to operate narrowbodies to Bogot Quito and Lima. Avensa still codeshares with Santa Barbara, but has cut back as its finances shrink.
