Business aircraft buyers seeking a VIP-configured variant of Boeing’s newest widebody will not want to bypass Greenpoint Technologies’ booth.

The company, a 15-year EBACE veteran, is pitching an aircraft that perhaps none can match in opulence and technology: a VIP-configured 777X.

The in-development 777X has yet to take to the air, although Boeing expects first flight this year of the 777-9 variant, followed by certification and first delivery in 2020. Boeing will then turn to certificating the smaller 777-8.

Both powered by GE Aviation GE9X turbofans, the 777-9 will have range of 11,000nm (20,400km), while the 777-8 will have 11,700nm range, Boeing says.

At EBACE, Greenpoint is showcasing a 20-passenger 777X cabin design it calls “Lotus”.

The design has a kitchen near the aircraft’s nose, aft of which is a forward lounge and a rotunda near the main boarding door that Greenpoint likens to a “world-class hotel lobby”.

Aft of the rotunda is a main lounge, a bar and a living room with a sunken floor, which helps make the space more distinctive, says Greenpoint director of design Annika Svore Wicklund.

Further aft, the Lotus 777X has a library, guest suite, seating area, tea room and, near the tail, a master suite with a glass-surrounded shower.

Greenpoint is also showcasing at its booth a 787-9 model outfitted with the company’s “Azure” cabin layout.

Greenpoint, now a subsidiary of Safran, has been in business for about 30 years and configures VIP versions of other Boeing models, including 737s, 747-8s and 777s, it says.
