MRO provider Lufthansa Technik has secured separate component maintenance contracts from Russian operators Aeroflot, AirBridgeCargo and Ural Airlines to support in-service and on-order aircraft.

Aeroflot has engaged the German company to provide engine nacelle maintenance for its Airbus A320-family fleet.

The contract covers equipment repairs, pool access for thrust reversers, inlet and fan cowls, plus provision of a spares kit to the Russian flag carrier's base at Moscow Sheremetyevo airport, LHT says.

It notes that the airline has been a customer for 25 years and that Aeroflot MRO subsidiary A-Technics will provide all services "within their capability" under the latest deal, which became effective in late 2018.

Cirium's Fleets Analyzer shows that Aeroflot has 80 A320s – including one stored aircraft – and 37 A321s, all powered by CFM International CFM56 engines.

Ural Airlines has selected LHT as component maintenance provider for an on-order fleet of Boeing 737 Max jets and has extended an existing A320-family component MRO deal to also cover incoming A320neos.

LHT says the Ekaterinburg-based airline is scheduled to start receiving aircraft in 2019 from its commitments for both 14 737 Max-8 jets and five A320neos.

Ural Airlines' fleet comprises 47 A320-family jets, with a mix of CFM56 and International Aero Engines V2500-powered aircraft, Cirium's Fleets Analyzer shows.

AirBridgeCargo, meanwhile, has signed a long-term component maintenance agreement for its fleet of 747-400 freighters.

The deal covers equipment pooling and leasing services and "currently" spans the Volga-Dnepr Group subsidiary's six-strong 747-400 freighter fleet, LHT says.

Moscow-based AirBridgeCargo additionally operates 12 747-8Fs and has ordered 29 777 freighters, Fleets Analyzer shows.
