Recently launched lessor AVi8 Air Capital has indicated plans for a $1.3 billion portfolio.

"We're currently modelling it," executive chairman Ray Sisson told FlightGlobal on the sidelines of the Global Airfinance Conference in Dublin today. The lessor plans to build a young fleet comprised mainly of Boeing 737s and Airbus A320s, but also including widebodies such as the 787.

He also confirms that AVi8 is currently in the process of raising equity. In a previous interview in November 2016, he told FlightGlobal that AVi8 could raise "between $500 million to $750 million" in equity.

Sisson, who formerly led lessor AWAS, is joined at AVi8 by Eastern Air Lines Group founder Ed Wegel, who will act as chief executive.
