Nigerian carrier Ibom Air has taken delivery of its first aircraft in the form of two Bombardier CRJ-900s.

Pictures posted by the social media accounts of Ibom Air and the Akwa Ibom state government show the two jets registered C-FWNL and C-FWNK arriving at Akwa Ibom International airport on 20 February.

The state-owned airline says it plans to begin thrice weekly services from Ibom's capital Uyo to Lagos and Abuja and intends to start a connection between Lagos and Abuja. It says its cabin crew are still undergoing training to meeting international standards.

Akwa Ibom state governor Udom Emmanuel disclosed plans to establish a new carrier called Ibom Air in January.

Cirium’s Fleets Analyzer shows that both C-FWNL [MSN 15182] and C-FWNK [MSN 15271] are owned by Canada's Avmax Aircraft Leasing.
