Air Canada launched daily non-stop Airbus A319 services between Chicago and Calgary on 17 May, with plans for twice-daily flights. United Airlines will codeshare on the route. Lufthansa Cargo will reintroduce and increase freighter service to Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, on 31 May, having previously announced that it would suspend flights from 26 March to 29 October. It will operate seven MD-11 freighter flights a week from Dallas Fort Worth, three to Mexico City and four to Frankfurt. KLM is launching twice-weekly services between Amsterdam and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with the return leg via Jeddah. Northwest Airlines is to codeshare with Big Sky Airlines on the regional carrier's network in Montana, beginning on 2 June. Big Sky operates 13 Fairchild Metro IIIs and 23s. Emirates will begin nonstop flights from Dubai to Munich in November, initially operating six flights a week. American Eagle will begin regional jet services between New York La Guardia and Cleveland on 29 July, with six daily round trips, using 50-seat Embraer ERJ-145s. Slots were obtained with AMR's acquisition of Business Express earlier this year. At the same time American Eagle acquired Business Express' 20 firm orders and 40 options for 37-seat ERJ-135s. TWA and Kuwait Airways are seeking approval for codeshares between the USA and various Gulf states, including Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Kuwait and Muscat. Omni Air International is to operate a year-round charter programme for MLT Vacations, beginning on 27 May, with a 380-passenger McDonnell Douglas DC-10-10 based in Minneapolis/ St Paul and serving Anchorage, Cancun, Honolulu, Jamaica, Las Vegas, Orlando and Puerto Vallarta. Air Lanka is to launch services from Colombo to Stockholm in November. Continental Express began a twice-daily service from Islip, Long Island, to Continental's Cleveland hub, on 1 May, using Embraer RJ-145s.
