Aeroflot is pushing Sukhoi to expand the Superjet 100 (SSJ) family with the introduction of a 130-seat stretch and a 70-seater shrink.

Aeroflot holds firm orders for 30 95-seat SSJ-95Bs and a memorandum of understanding for an additional 15 aircraft. These aircraft will replace the airline's older Tupolev aircraft, but Aeroflot general director Valery Okulov says "a suitable replacement for the larger Tu-154M" is also required and is calling for a 130-seat "SSJ-130" to be developed.

"This would considerably boost the Superjet's competitiveness in the global marketplace," says Okulov, who is also proposing Sukhoi goes ahead with the long-proposed 70-seat "SSJ-70" shrink.

This would allow the creation of a so called "Sukhoi Businessjet100" offering transatlantic range.
