Air Bashkortostan, the newly created subsidiary of Russia’s VIM-Avia, launched services last month with a Boeing 757-200. The airline has been created by VIM-Avia and the regional Bashkortostan government as a competitor – and even potential successor – to Bashkirian Airlines, the main carrier at the republic’s capital Ufa. The first 757 is being operated on services to Moscow.
