HEAD-UP APPROVAL

Rockwell Collins has received US certification for its HGS-6605 head-up guidance system used as a head-up display for the Bombardier Challenger 605 business jet. The HGS-6605 presents critical flight information in the pilot's forward field of view, says Collins. Aircraft flightpath and attitude symbols overlay the outside scene and provide the benefits of enhanced situational awareness, improved energy management and increased touchdown precision.

FORWARD PLANNING

ExecuJet South Africa says it is witnessing a strong uptake in third-party widebodied business jet maintenance activity as owners plan ahead to have their aircraft available for charter during the World Cup football finals to be held in the country in June/July 2010. "Our clients are making their maintenance plans early to ensure they don't get caught out with aircraft that can't fly in what will be the biggest and busiest event on the global sporting calendar," says ExecuJet.
