The Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China has chosen a new Chinese subsidiary of Austrian aircraft components manufacturer FACC to supply the interiors for the C919 aircraft.

FACC (China) will begin operations at the end of this year in Zhenjiang city in the southwestern province of Jiangsu, says the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC). AVIC subsidiary Xian Aircraft acquired a majority stake in Austria's FACC last year.

FACC (China) will supply the interiors of the C919, such as the ceiling panels, luggage compartments, windows, lavatories and galleys, says AVIC.

Besides Xian Aircraft, Chinese vehicle interiors supplier Xing Mei Long will also be an investor in FACC (China), says AVIC.

Comac is aiming to conduct the first flight of the C919 in 2014, with entry into service in 2016.
