Falcon business jet and Rafale fighters maker Dassault Aviation has chosen Eric Trappier to succeed long-standing chairman and chief executive Charles Edelstenne, who will retire on 8 January.
Trappier, a telecommunications engineer by training, joined the Dassault design office in 1984 and is executive vice-president international. He will also replace Philippe Hustache as director, until Hustache's term expires on shareholder approval of the 2014 financial report.
Loïk Segalen, who is Dassault's director general of economic and social affairs and also sits on the Thales board, will become chief operating officer.
Edelstenne reaches the statutory retirement age of 65 on 9 January, after which he will remain a director and join the audit committee.
