Netherlands-based Elysian Aircraft is to collaborate with regional aircraft lessor TrueNoord on the development of its E9X battery-powered 90-seater.
Under an agreement disclosed on 22 October, TrueNoord will provide a lessor’s perspective on the E9X programme, offering input on key topics including direct operating costs, residual value and aftersales support.

Elysian says the interactions with TrueNoord “will provide a platform for open dialogue between innovators, financiers, airlines, and other stakeholders across the sustainable aviation ecosystem.”
Daniel Rosen Jacobson, Elysian co-founder and co-chief executive, says the co-operation will ensure the E9X “addresses [the] commercial and financial expectations of the industry.’’
Elysian has previously recruited airlines including KLM and Transavia as advisers to the E9X.
Service entry for the 430nm (800km)-range aircraft is tentatively scheduled for around 2033.
