Philippine Airlines has confirmed firm orders for four A340-300s, eight A330-300s and 12 A320s with deliveries starting in the second quarter of 1997.

Swissair has ordered a further three A319s and two A320s.

Finnair is set to order four B757s for charter operations, replacing two A300s.

EuroBelgian Airlines has ordered two B737-400s for delivery in January 1997.

Jet Airways has leased two used B737-400s from the manufacturer with deliveries in May and June.

Continental Express has ordered 20 ATR42-500s, including options, with eight due for delivery this year.

Honduran carrier Islena Airlines has ordered one ATR42.

Norwegian regional Air Stord has ordered two Dornier 328s, while Bangkok-based BP Air has ordered one.

Spanish independent Air Nostrum will take three used F50s.

Egyptair has selected the PW4090 engine to power its three B777-200s.
