Ariana Afghan Airlines is poised to introduce two Boeing 757-200s as part of the carrier’s fleet upgrade. The two aircraft, which are being acquired through Boeing Capital, are being prepared for delivery at UK overhaul company ATC Lasham. The two aircraft will be operated by UK carrier Astraeus and based in Dubai. The 757 acquisition was agreed last year as part of a Boeing fleet modernisation deal that included an order for four 737-700s for delivery in 2009 and 2010 to replace its four ageing 727-200s.
