I would like to correct your assumptions in the article "BAA wants three more runways for London" (Flight International, 20-26 May). You say Heathrow is the preferred option for BAA. This is not the case.
We advised that four of the government's runway options are viable and that up to three should be chosen to be developed over the 30-year time frame. One should be selected as the first location and the others should be safeguarded.
BAA expressed no preference for which options should be developed and when. That is a decision for government alone.
