Canadian manufacturer Bombardier has hired Patrick Baudis as its new vice-president of marketing.

Baudis will leave Airbus after more than 18 years with the European manufacturer to take the role at Bombardier, replacing Philippe Poutissou who left in August 2014.

"We are pleased to be adding Patrick to our leadership team," says a Bombardier spokeswoman. "He's a welcome addition and we are looking forward to the contributions he will bring to the team."

Baudis held various positions at Airbus in Toulouse before transferring to the Miami office in 2010 as the airframer's vice-president marketing Latin America and Caribbean.

He was named vice-president of marketing for the Americas at Airbus in October 2013.
