Striking pilots at US regional carrier Comair are set to vote on a contract agreement endorsed by their union leaders this week. A yes vote could end the strike on 22 June and get the airline flying again after an 89-day stoppage. A summary of the contract is being made available to the pilots today. They will then be briefed during two meetings in Cincinnati on Tuesday and at a third in Orlando the following day. The entire contract will also appear on the company's Website. Telephonic voting will begin on Tuesday and end on Friday. A third party will count the votes and the result will be announced later that afternoon in Cincinnati. Though the carrier is preparing to resume services, it will release no details of its pilot reinstatement plans until the outcome of the vote has been announced. For the time being, a Comair spokesman says, it is operating under the status quo and not accepting any passenger bookings earlier than 60 days hence.
