British company Druck (Hall A/538) has brought the ADTS 505 remote hand terminal to Asian Aerospace for the first time.

The hand-held device allows a single operator to implement sophisticated Pitot-Static test routines while seated in the cockpit of a fixed or rotary wing civil aircraft. The system is powered via the Air Data Test Set situated outside the aircraft and is connected to the hand-held device by an 18m (60ft) lead.

Once connected, the 1.5kg (3.3lb) hand terminal becomes the user interface allowing full control from inside the aircraft.

The hand terminal uses the same menu as the Air Data Test Set and a choice of units is provided for altitude, airspeed, rate of climb, engine pressure ratio and other test functions. Control/measurement is also available for rate of climb, static, pitot and calibrated airspeed.

The precision of ADTS 505 is fully compliant with the latest Reduced Vertical Separation Minima (RVSM) standards being introduced worldwide. The set accepts a variety of popular Vac power supplies, making it easy to use and maintain as well as very portable.

Aircraft instruments under test are protected by a power failure protection feature which locks the pneumatic system and allows restoration to ambient ground conditions in the event of interruption to the electrical supply.

As well as extensive work with the military, Druck also works with a long list of civil aircraft and engine manufacturers including Embraer, Cessna, and BMW/Rolls-Royce.
