Aircraft lessor Aviation Capital Group has placed a follow-on order for 12 more Boeing 737 Max 8s, taking its firm commitments for the type to 34.

ACG announced the fresh order for the CFM International Leap-1B-powered jets today at the Farnborough air show, building on previous Max commitments in 2011 and May this year.

The order was previously attributed on Boeing’s orders and deliveries website to an undisclosed customer.

Executive chair at the lessor, Mahoko Hara, says: “This latest incremental 737 Max order allows ACG to offer highly fuel-efficient airplanes to our airline customers around the world.

“These additional 737 Max aircraft will help position ACG’s orderbook for a recovery in air traffic coming out of the pandemic.”
