Orlando-based flight simulator-maker SimCom is building Socata TBM 850 and Beechcraft King Air 350 sims with new levels of realism. And the company is also looking to building new training centers in the US.

The fully-enclosed Level 5 equivalent TBM 850 sim, complete with G1000 avionics, is nearly ready to come online. And the King Air 350, with Collins Pro Line 21 avionics, should be ready by next summer, says managing director Tracy Brannon.

SimCom is showing delegates its manufacturing and training facilities this week, with shuttles running to both sites from the convention.

The latest addition at the Orlando training centre was SimCom’s fourth Cessna simulator, which went live September 3. “We just introduced a Level C Citation Ultra,” says Brannon. SimCom has also brought a third Pilatus PC-12 sim on line to replicate the PC-12 NG with Honeywell Apex avionics.

SimCom is looking further north in the US for future sites. “With the increasing travel expenses and fuel costs, some operators are looking to cut costs,” says Brannon, “We're looking at primarily the turboprop and light jets market.”
