Qatar Airways has brought forward plans to start new routes to Oman and the Czech Republic to next month.

The Gulf carrier says it will begin thrice-weekly flights from Doha to Sohar on 8 August and daily services to Czech capital Prague from 21 August.

The airline had previously identified Prague as a city it would add to its passenger network in 2018. The airline began freight services to the Czech capital last year. Sohar was not among the list of a dozen prospective new routes Qatar in April flagged as planned for 2018.

Both routes will be operated using Airbus A320 equipment, Qatar Airways adds.

FlightGlobal schedules data shows neither route is currently operated by scheduled carriers.
