Quiet Technologies Gulfstream (QTG) is planning to clinch certification for a Part 36, Stage 3 hush kit for the Gulfstream II, IIB and III in the first quarter of next year. The Florida-based company has acquired a GIIB for use in the certification programme. The kit costs $1.35 million installed, about $450,000 less than the delayed systems being developed by Really Quiet and Stage III Technologies. QTG's system, which weighs about 50kg (110lb) per side, consists of a translating ejector installed on sliding rails that require no changes to the aircraft's thrust reverser. QTG claims to have received orders for 14 hush-kit sets to date and expects the orderbook to increase to more than 50 by the end of June.
