"Buy America" is bad news for the USA and the rest of the aviation industry. Aviation is by its nature an international business. Airlines and air arms should be free to buy whatever best suits their needs, whatever its origin. After all, the US Air Force did fly the English Electric Canberra, albeit in a different guise.

If this policy is adopted it will only encourage tit-for-tat protectionism, raise barriers in the aviation community and preclude the advancement of technology by sharing ideas between friendly nations.
