Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) says it is close to winning an export order for its Super Mushshak trainer from an unnamed Middle Eastern customer.

PAC says a contract will be signed "soon" for the upgraded Mushshak version, which is a licence-built version of the Saab Supporter. Speaking at the International Defence Exhibition and Seminar 2000 in Karachi in early November, air force chief designate and PAC director general, Air Chief Marshal Mushaf Ali Mir, confirmed the imminent order. PAC can build 20-30 aircraft a year, which could be increased.

Mir adds that the PAC's Kamra Avionics and Radar Factory completed its first Fiar Grifo 7 radar in October and is moving into series production.
