NASA has agreed to fly two Argentine Satelite de Aplicaciones (SAC) satellites, carrying a multi-spectral medium-resolution scanner and technology instruments respectively. The SAC-C - to be launched on a Delta booster - will be used primarily to monitor Argentina's forest inventory and study the environment. The SAC-A craft - to be deployed from the STS88 Endeavour - will carry a differential-global-positioning system, digital camera, magnetometer, solar cells for evaluation and a tracker to monitor endangered whale-population migrations in the southern hemisphere. The SAC-B was launched on a Pegasus in November 1996
