The University of Arizona’s fixed-wing, autonomous micro air vehicle (MAV) was the winner of the first US/European Micro Aerial Vehicle Technology Demonstration and Assessment event, held in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany last week. The team can submit a research proposal worth up to $100,000 to the US Army’s research office. The runner up was Germany’s Team Martin Mueller, while Sweden’s University of Linköping won best rotary MAV.
