BE Aerospace swung back into profit for 1996 after a couple of years of losses as it attempted to consolidate its break-neck expansion in cabin-interior equipment and in-flight-entertainment systems. Net profits came in at $13.7 million for its financial year to February 1997, turning around a loss of $83 million in the previous year after a heavy charge. Sales were at a record $412 million, including the acquisition of the Burns Aerospace business at the start of 1996.
