THE BOEING 767-300F freighter made its first flight from Everett to Boeing Field in late June. Boeing says that the 2h 29min "flawless" flight begins a relatively short test effort which is expected to include 60 flight hours and 300 ground-test hours.
Three aircraft will be involved in the test programme, which is short because only freighter-specific modifications require certification. The effort will culminate in the delivery of the first of up to 60 aircraft to UPS Airlines on 12 October.
A total of five 767-300Fs will be delivered to UPS by mid-November, with a further 11 due to be delivered in 1996.
