Domestic rivals are claiming more market share from Air Canada. The three largest, WestJet, Jetsgo and CanJet, now claim 30% of the Canadian market. WestJet, Air Canada's largest rival, keeps setting growth records. It recently exercised options on seven more Boeing 737s, which will bring its fleet to 63. Montreal-based Jetsgo has added over 300% capacity in the past year, with its twelfth Boeing MD-83 arriving in December. It now serves 11 cities across Canada, plus four in the USA. CanJet Airlines, based in Halifax, is negotiating an order for 20 new jets, probably new-generation 737s, to replace its six 737-200s. CanJet plans deliveries over three years, starting this year.
