A satellite communications receiver on a chip could be the outcome of a $6.2 million (£3.3 million) contract awarded to Northrop Grumman Systems by the US Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. Northrop Grumman will integrate technology previously developed to create a "system on a chip receiver", to be completed by December 2006.
