DaimlerChrysler has launched a major push into the Japanese aerospace market, with the formation of a wholly owned subsidiary aiming to generate annual sales of $1 billion within 10 years.

The new Tokyo-based unit, DaimlerChrysler Aerospace (Dasa) Japan, combines Dasa's representative office in the country with the aerospace division of DaimlerChrysler Japan Holding, which was itself established with the aim of generating 20-25% of group sales in Asia.
