It could be called the ultimate blessing for a new aircraft. When the Pope needed transport from the Vatican to a vacation home in Aosta Valley in northern Italy, he travelled on a Fairchild Dornier 328JET.Hearing that Pope John-Paul II was in need of some swift transport, Italian regional carrier Air Vallee stepped in and offered to supply its 328JET, which was delivered earlier this year.

A special VIP seat was installed in the front of the regional jet and the Pope and his entourage was able to make the one hour flight in style in one of the newest aircraft types in the business.

No word on how the Pope enjoyed his regional jet experience, but for Fairchild marketeers, this has to be as close as you can get to a heavenly endorsement.
