J C Johns is named product lead for the US Federal Aviation Administration's global-positioning-system team. With the FAA since 1992, Johns headed the acquisition part of the wide-area augmentation system for more than two years. Susan Kurland becomes associate administrator for airports. She was formerly deputy corporation counsel to the city of Chicago, overseeing legal activities associated with the city's airport.
