The search is on to find industrial partners to take over the viable remains of Fokker, which declared bankruptcy on 15 March.
An independent foundation now owns Fokker Aviation, which includes the Fokker Aircraft Services maintenance firm, the aerostructures and electronics companies, and product support operations for the 1,130 Fokker aircraft in service.
Some aircraft currently in final assembly will be completed, but most of the 70 outstanding orders will not be fulfilled, affecting at least 12 airlines, including Alitalia, Sempati Air, Merpati Nusantara, Austrian Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines and TAM of Brazil.
