A US firm set up to purchase and consolidate fixed-base operations (FBO) in secondary and tertiary markets has announced its first acquisitions. FBO Air has acquired Central Plains Aviation in Garden City, Kansas and Tech Aviation Service in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Pennsylvania. The Scottsdale, Arizona-based company completed a private placement raising $4.5 million to finance its acquisitions, of which around $2.7 million has been used to purchase the initial two locations. FBO Air says it has negotiated letters of intent to acquire an FBO in the southern USA and a flight school in the south west.
