The Fiji Government has approved the signature by its civil aviation minister of a new air service agreement with the nearby Cook Islands. The draft document allows Fiji's Air Pacific to serve Auckland and the USA via Raratonga and Tahiti. The move follows Air Pacific's recent announcement of a wide-ranging expansion plan. Air Pacific has also been granted permission to operate joint services with a Taiwanese carrier.
