Brazil's helicopter fleet has doubled in the past six years, from 423 units in1995 to 843, says the Brazilian department of civil aviation. Over half the fleet, 450 units, is based in São Paulo, said to be the world's second largest helicopter market. New York is first with 1,500 machines.
