Flight-testing is under way of a Hapag-Lloyd Boeing 737-800 retrofitted with blended winglets, developed by Aviation Partners Boeing. The German carrier has ordered 26 blended winglet kits and will be the first commercial airline to fly a 737-800 with winglets when the certification-test aircraft enters service next year. The winglets extend the 737-800's range by over 240km (130nm).
