A chartered Gulfstream business-jet crashed in the Andes, 22 miles south of Quito, Ecuador, on 4 April, killing all seven people on board. The dead included the head of Argentina's largest oil company and senior executives of Chile's state oil company. Wreckage was discovered off the normal approach path to Quito.
